Jan Norman, small-business columnist at the Orange County Register explores the new law (SB 1608) set to curb abusive ADA-related lawsuits against southern California businesses in her column today.
In it, CALA's Southern California Regional Director Maryann Maloney is quoted as saying:
"These reforms] do not take away the right of any person to sue if they are denied access or encounter a genuine violation. With the current state of our economy, these reforms could not come at a more opportune time for small businesses struggling just to keep their doors open."
