No matter what survey or poll you read California continues to be on the bottom of the list. Jan Norman, Orange County Register small business reporter now reports “California’s economic outlook ranks 46th among the states,” according to the new study from the American Legislative Exchange Council, a limited government advocacy group of state legislators. Economic competitiveness drives income, population and job growth, according to the report’s analysis. It found that states with a high and rising tax burden are more likely to drive away individuals and business, while those with lower and falling tax burdens are more likely to attract businesses and create jobs.

snapshot of California’s economic outlook shows our State Liability System  ranks 44th in the country. The Institute for Legal Reform ranks it even lower, at 46th in the nation. It’s time for California’s legislature to pass laws that encourage businesses, and therefore jobs, to remain or expand in the state.
